Time For a Change

If all goes well, I will have pics of Alberta next week. Right nwo it's kill time until we get a load out and back, so we can pick her up.

Memorial Day was good, cooked shrimp and steak kabobs, with grilled corn on teh cob and watermelon, and Pet's mother made potato salad. Made a frozen lemonade which is really good with lemoncello, and played a bit of a Monkey banana game on the Wii. All in all, a very low key, low stress day.

I need to post about throwing up in my truck, and smacking the owl, I just don't feel like it yet.

Times like this I realize exactly how dangerous my job is. Yes, that's a Central trailer in teh fire. No, it's not mine.

Ever since Suranna hit 80, she's been after me for a new mount. She keeps complaining that Lanys' controller bought her epic flying, so why can't I spring for a new mount. I try to explain she has a bunch of mounts: 3 Qiraji battle tanks, 4 skeletal horses, a wyvern, and that fantastic flying carpet I made for her. She claims the carpet's not fast enough.

Feeling out of sorts. I have the entire time I've been home. I guess it figures. My period showed up again, the last one was less than 2 weeks ago, so I'm confused. We head out tomorrow. As always, I am not ready.

Lots of home time things a to accomplish while home. Let's see if any of it gets done.

Need to:
Find out if Pet's things need moved out
Move Pet's things out (if not furniture, at least posters and papers)
Sort through my storage shed, move some things
Go through my stuff at Jamie's, sort his stuff from mine, put in specific sides of room
Do Taxes
Cook a couple times
Hit 60 on my new toons

Taxes are #1, moving stuff around is #2. Warcraft is #3, although knowing how badly I'm sucked into the game, it'll get pushed up.

I've had a weird stomach bug the last 2 weeks, Pet and I both have gotten it. We're feeling better now, which is good.

Been busy driving, had some personal problems, not really up to posting just yet. should be home next week, maybe I'll post then and see if things look up.

In other Words: Went to Seattle, saw Lucy the 3 million year old fossil. Saw mom, grandpa, granda's wife, and uncle. Had A My Little Pony Cake, and more My Little Ponies. Nearly had an asthma attack laughing and blowing out candles.

Came home. Fell down the fucking stairs. Thanksfully it's only 5-6 stairs, but I'm starting to feel it.

I really dislike burying people on my birthday.

2009 has really sucked this year. Can I have a do-over?

Should be home Satureday or so, I'll give the enormous list of Fail that 2009 has been so far.

I haven't been very good about updating things anymore. I get home time, and spend it dinking off, playing warcraft and other things, but very little writing.

As far as work goes, same shit, different day. The truck is not having problems with the Cruise control shutting off at inopportune times. It's probably related to the wiring problem we have, but I don't want to be shut down to get it fixed. Wally will bitch, and we don't need the downtime.

We were put on the electronic logs, which are okay and not. On one hand, it's great to not need a paper log anymore. No more forgetting when I last updated my log, and no worrying when I cross a scale. On the other hand, no monkeying your logs to get that extra 5 minutes, or be able to change them so that 4 hour nap no longer runs you out of your 14. Pet ran within a minute of her 11 hours of driving the other day. In the past you just updated your log accordingly, but not with an Elog.

On the plus side, I'm in pet's room, typing on my computer right now. Wally actually gave us a load that ran through home, and was okay with us taking an overnight here. We ran 8500 miles in under 2 weeks, so I guess he's okay with rewarding us with a little downtime.

I have a new phone, a gorgeous LG voyager that does everything but drive my truck for me. It's pretty impressive. I have email and IM and all that on my phone, which is really a palmtop computer with phone capabilities. It's great.

Personal life has not been so great. I had a falling out with a friend of mine over a betrayal of trust, and while it's been a learning experience, it's also been one I can live without. I really hate having my trust betrayed, and ironically, the person who did it to me also hates it. This also stresses my relationship with Pet, because I've been hurt and angry and sad over it, and been taking it out on her. Thankfully, she's wonderful and patient, and so she's not taking it back out on me.

... you'll need to send it to me again. Comments are screened so if you put your phone in there, I will not show it. I am no longer in possession of my phone. It was taken from me about 3am on New Year's Day by some guy with a gun.

Short version is that at 3am I was in Sacremento, delivering a load. I was on the phone with a friend, and as I walked up the street to see if the receiver was open, 3 people in a car pulled up. One of the guys demanded I get off my phone give it to him, and give him whatever money I had. I didn't have my wallet on me, just the phone and little things, like pocket change. He had some semi-automatic pistol and had it where I could see it. I hung up on my friend, and handed the phone over. After a few minutes they let me go, I suspect because there was another trucker just down the street, but not after telling me if I had $20 they'd give me my phone back.

So, they took off with my phone. Robbed at gunpoint (more or less), for a 2 year old, beat up Motorola Razr. Happy New Year's to me. I'm unhurt, which is a good thing, so I can't complain, other than I just can't believe it.

So again, please email or Myspace me your phone number if I had it, or if I didn't have it, and you feel like giving it to me. I'm not going to be seeing that phone again, so any numbers I had are gone. I'll let you know when I get another phone. Right now I'm in Cali and getting to a phone store in a semi is nearly impossible.
